Microsoft Migration case Office 365
Our customer is a strong partner for high-quality wood-based panels, with outstanding decorative surface expertise, customer-focused service and consistent orientation to sustainability – economic, ecological and social. The headquarter is located in Germany, and there was a central deployment of email, file, AD services in the complex hybrid architecture. Due to business
reasons, the polish subsidiary was sold, and it was a solid need to migrate accounts, configuration, data and services to the new Microsoft 365 environment in Poland.

- Continuous mail flow with customers during the migration process
- Continuous mail exchange between both companies during the migration process
Solution
1st phase: PoC
Due to the complexity of both source and destination environments, we decided to create a lab, where we went through all the steps to be sure that the final phase would go smoothly. We have created the architecture, the final approach and all the needed steps for the final migration phase.
2nd phase: final migration
Iterative migration of a subset of accounts and mailboxes. Due to the throttling mechanism in Office 365 and extensive user mailboxes. Each portion of migrated mailboxes was tested and fixed manually if the error occurred.
3rd phase, additional configuration
We deployed new security policies using Microsoft Endpoint Manager in the destination environment. It was needed mainly to restrict private mobiles from gathering business mails.
Additionally, our customer needs to be sure that people using desktops and laptops uses the network from the office, or if they are not in the office, the VPN is used.
Outcome
- Both companies work without interruptions, using emails, Teams, files etc.
- The target destination has additional protection based on the Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
