FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

TTMS broadens client flexibility with new Xerox iGen3® Color

Digital Production Press

April 27, 2006, West Deptford, NJ -- The Total Mailing System (TTMS, Inc.) has acquired a new Xerox iGen3® Digital Production Press.

The iGen3 system provides clients with high-quality, short-run personalized color laser printing at economical prices.

According to TTMS President Bob Powell:

Jim Capanna of TTMS holds up an example of the spectacularly true color printing available in short run quantities from the new iGen3® Press.

"This acquisition adds another dimension to our current portfolio of services for our current customer base. We are building on our strength in providing direct marketing production solutions for the business trades. Our friends in the trades, particularly our offset printer clientele, need this resource. The new iGen3 allows them to offer their customers a turnkey solution for retention, loyalty, and one-to-one relationship marketing programs, in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer channels. TTMS is now that resource."

iGen3 -- Perfect for short-run personalized color

Business Development Manager Jim Capanna noted that many printers have had to turn down small high quality personalized work because of the costs associated with plate changes to accommodate variable color and imaging. They also found that the intricacies of the data management and the mailing process were outside their areas of expertise. However, the new Xerox iGen3 combined with TTMS's industry experience is ideal for 5,000 to 20,000 piece mailings.

"As we've done so many times in the past, we are partnering with our customers," Capanna says, "We can share our database management proficiency along with our direct mail production solutions. Essentially our clients have said to us: 'Build it, and we will come.' And so we built it, and now they're coming!"

The decision to acquire the new iGen3 did not come about rashly. Mr. Capanna had been researching the field of short-run digital printing for five years. The pent-up demand finally justified the seven-figure investment required.

One-on-one marketing taken to the next level

"The DM industry is all about one-on-one marketing," Mr. Capanna said, "and direct mail is on the upswing. Marketers are being driven away from telemarketing by regulations and from e-mail by spam. Direct mail is proven. We're a client-driven company, and this capability is what our clients are demanding."

The most popular uses for the new digital printing capability are for marketing products such as: self mailers, postcards, business cards, brochures, sell sheets, point of purchase displays, small books, catalogs and literature for sales reps. Much of this work is template-driven, and TTMS can set up a network to support these programs. For example, different sales representatives can now request small quantities of collateral materials on a daily basis.

The Xerox brand was chosen as the supplier of digital printing capability in preference over several other well-known competitors. "I've researched print-on-demand technology, and Xerox has this part of the industry captured," Mr. Capanna explained. "No one does it better than they do, from the standpoints of the quality of the final product and the level of support they provide to us. All of my years of research at various DMA and PDMA events on competing systems have paid off."

He added: "This is the final touch to what we do as a company. It's the final complement to variable personalization. Right now, the hot uses are for retention mailings and creative prospecting and acquisition. The benefits are finally being grasped by key industries that can benefit most. This includes retail, hospitality, college recruitment marketing, real estate, and financial and insurance statements. We hold seminars for direct marketers on how to use digital color personalization effectively. In fact, tours are coming in now!"

As a final comment, Mr.Capanna added: "Every day, we're helping clients find that proverbial pot of gold with short-run variable data and color imaging. Now, how can we help you?"
